More info

To gain clarity on deposit-related inquiries, kindly review the following information. Similar to other breeders, we adhere to a non-refundable policy. Placing a deposit secures a place on our current or future list, which means that changing your decision would impact another potential adopter. Prior to making a deposit, please be aware that it is non-refundable. What we do If unexpected situations arise, your deposit will be moved to the next litter, and if you cannot take a puppy from the current one, it will be carried over.

Breeders require protection from numerous window shoppers. Non-refundable deposits function as a screening mechanism for breeders to assess potential puppy buyers. Submitting a non-refundable deposit signals to a breeder that a potential buyer is committed and not merely browsing, preventing them from joining waitlists without genuine intent to purchase a puppy.

Buyers who opt to make non-refundable deposits usually have confidence in their choice of breeder and are dedicated to completing the purchase of a puppy. Non-refundable deposits serve as a safeguard for breeders in case a buyer withdraws from the waiting list or after a litter is born, requiring the breeder to invest additional effort in finding new homes for the remaining puppies. Consequently, non-refundable deposits act as a protective measure, albeit one that can be laborious, tiring, and financially demanding.

A significant amount of maintenance is necessary to ensure the well-being and comfort of the mother of the puppies. In order to guarantee her health, it is essential to obtain certifications, which can cost approximately $600 for each prospective dam's hips and elbows. Additionally, obtaining Eye certification for $100 and  Cardiac certification for $950 is crucial. Conducting multiple progesterone tests, costing around $130 each, is also essential for accurately determining the timing of conception, with these tests averaging around $700 or more for progesterone alone. Furthermore, a parasite test for worms, Ova, and Giardia is necessary, amounting to $300. Regular visits to the veterinarian are required to ensure the female is in good health for breeding, including mandatory tests for Brucellosis costing $100 and Bordetella costing $40. Confirming pregnancy through an ultrasound at 55 days costs $170, and a puppy count at 58 days costs $350. Lastly, providing supplements for the mother amounts to $500.

Breeders invest heavily in their puppies before receiving payment from new owners, shouldering the financial burden with the anticipation of reimbursement upon sale. 2. Non-refundable deposits act as a safety net for breeders, guaranteeing interested buyers and protecting their investments in terms of time and money of an unexpected puppy to the breeder's family may not be easy to handle, either from a cost, time, or logistical perspective. Non-refundable deposits can help reduce the risk of this happening to a breeder and, if it does, help offset the unexpected expenses.

Discovering that one of the buyers has backed out at the last minute can be a stressful experience for a breeder who thought all the puppies in her litter had found good homes. This sudden change can lead to unexpected demands and time-sensitive needs, such as finding a replacement home quickly and providing necessary care for the remaining puppy, including socialization, development, and vaccinations.

In conclusion: Non-refundable deposits benefit breeders in multiple ways. They facilitate the selection of suitable homes for puppies and provide breeders with the necessary time and focus for this important task. Furthermore, these deposits enable breeders to prioritize the care and development of their puppies and mother dogs. Lastly, breeders can feel assured that their investments in terms of finances and time will be appropriately compensated without delay.

Ear crop info

Our Policy

  • Payment for the ear cropping procedure for your puppy must be made when the puppy is 1 week old in order to secure a spot for the surgery. Scheduling an appointment for the procedure takes time, so early payment is necessary. The fee for the ear cropping is $1000, and it is separate from the total fee for the puppy.
  • An email will be sent containing a form for ear crop release
  • The procedure will be performed by an experienced veterinarian at 8 weeks of age.
  • Please note that the breeder is not responsible for any posting issues after the buyer receives the puppy.

Ear cropping is a minor procedure that removes the extra ear caused by selective breeding, allowing the ears to stand erect like those of  wild mammals.Posting is a simple method that helps the ear cartridge to form properly and the ears to stand.

Informative

The practice of ear cropping, and tail docking originated as a utilitarian measure in the early stages of dog breed development, when these breeds were specifically bred for their designated tasks. Numerous breeds have undergone ear cropping, with familiar examples including Danes, Boxers, and Doberman Pinschers. Additionally, breeds such as Bouviers des Flanders, Schnauzers, Miniature Pinschers, Briards, and Brussels Griffons are commonly subjected to ear cropping.

In the past, dogs were expected to work for a living, and this resulted in their ears being cropped short and wide. Guardian breeds, in particular, had their ears cropped to prevent thieves or trespassers from grabbing onto their long, floppy ears during a tussle. Danes were considered a guardian breed in early history and were also used for hunting wild boars. However, their long, uncropped ears were vulnerable to being bitten, shredded, ripped, and torn by the sharp tusks of the boars during the hunting process.

Throughout history, ear cropping has been a prevalent procedure. The erect ears help prevent hematoma, ear infections, cuts, and other types of harm. Similarly, Dobermans have their tails docked because their undocked tails are delicate, easily damaged, and prone to "happy tail" from hitting walls and door frames.
